I have a little friend named Frances. She’s currently six years old. She considers herself an artist. Last year, we decided to do a secret activity to make gifts for everyone in her family. We did pottery painting. This year, it was jewelry.

I’ve been working out at home lately. One of the things I do just about every day is go outside and walk briskly around the neighborhood for about 20 minutes. I thought it would be a good thing to listen to some music while I walk. So I got myself an iPod Nano. The question became, how do I find songs in my music collection with the perfect walking pace for me?

Sometimes you get a problematic Word document that you need to reformat with clean HTML. It’s easier to show than tell, so I made you a little movie. There’s also a little-known (but handy) tip about making odd-shaped selections in Word, and (gasp!) working with DOS.

One of my clients has a member-based photo gallery on their site. The administration and bandwidth issues were starting to reach the nightmare stage as their membership kept growing, and folks kept uploading. I suddenly thought, why is my client trying to be in the hosted photo-sharing business, when Flickr is the best thing out there? How can we have a member-based gallery and make Flickr do all the work? And make it really, really easy? And fun?
